Ever since I can remember I have felt an affinity with tiny things. From buttons to lacework; jewellery to tiny shells - I have always been captivated by the beautiful details in miniature objects.

When I graduated from art school in 2015 I was working on a much grander scale - creating immersive installations and performance art with my partner. It was a really fun and rewarding time that piqued my interest in costume - so much so that I later decided to study costume design and garment construction academically. I've had some wonderful times working on costumes for theatre, opera, film and fun! but always felt happiest when I was given the chance to work on intricate embellishments and hand stitched details.

It was during 2020's lockdown that I reconciled all of this and started to make dolls. It began as a hobby to focus my mind and pass the time but quickly escalated into a kind of devotion that now dominates my entire practice. I love to be swept up in the magic of it all and often fantasise about the secret little worlds my dolls could inhabit...
